Thanks to the WebNotarius service, you can:

  • validate an electronic signature;
  • verify whether a document has been altered in an unauthorized way;
  • receive a legal authenticity certificate in the form of a validation report.

Confirmation of authenticity and integrity of documents

The service verifies whether electronic signatures and seals are valid and whether the document has remained unchanged after being signed. It is a key solution for companies and institutions that store and exchange electronic documentation.

Validation report as legal evidence

As part of the process, you will receive a PDF report confirming the legal status of the electronic signature. This report can be used in court cases, tenders, and any proceedings where official confirmation of document authenticity is required.

Qualified validation compliant with eIDAS

The WebNotarius service complies with the European eIDAS regulation, which means that validation reports have full legal effect across the European Union.

Ease of use and online accessibility

The service is fully online – no additional software installation or technical expertise is required, it supports various file formats, including PDF, XML, and DOCX.

The result of a validation is a PDF report, which returns one of the following validation statuses for signatures and seals: positive , negative or indeterminate.

Explanation of validation results in the report

Positive means:

  • in the case of a signature – a qualified electronic signature equivalent to a handwritten signature;
  • in the case of a seal – a qualified electronic seal confirming the integrity and authenticity of the data it was applied to.

Negative means:

  • in the case of a signature – confirmed lack of compliance with qualified or advanced electronic signature requirements;
  • in the case of a seal – confirmed lack of compliance with qualified or advanced electronic seal requirements.

Indeterminate means:

  • in the case of a signature – the inability to confirm that all requirements for qualified or advanced electronic signatures are met;
  • in the case of seal – the inability to confirm that all requirements for a qualified or advanced electronic seal are met.

The result of the signature validation process consists of the following elements:

  • the status of the validation process of the signed document,
  • the unique identifier of the issued validation certificate,
  • the date and time for which the validation result is valid, including information on the date used in the validation process,
  • an indication of whether an electronic signature or electronic seal was validated,
  • the validation status for each individual signature on the document,
  • information about the hash algorithm used in each signature,
  • identifying data of the signer for each signature,
  • information regarding the qualified status of the timestamp used in the signature, if present, for each signature,
  • the reason for signing, if this attribute was included in the validated signature,
  • other signed attributes, if present in the signature,
  • an identifier of the validation process used,
  • a list of validation evidence used in the process (CRL lists, OCSP responses, TSL lists, timestamps).
